It kind of got started me down this path, deciding we need to do a manosphere episode because the Sigma male stuff is also ridiculous. And in that in that post of theirs was a book called the Sigma Male. There's actually more than one that had a man in a suit with a sword on it. That's called the Sigma male, what women want. Well, like the Mel Gibson movie. What? That's a movie? Yeah, what women want. Ohh, no. Yes, yes, yes. What? Women want the movie, but not the Sigma male. The movie. Yes. No, no. Although I'm sure Mel Gibson would be down to participate in that as well. It it's so that book was written by Doctor John T Alexander, who builds himself as a relationship expert, and he authored the book The Sigma Male and also maintains the Tumblr Sigma male.tumblr.com. Wanna guess what kind of doctor John Alexander, the relationship expert, is? Gotta be psychiatry or, you know, something like sociology now. I mean, he's a podiatrist. He's a plastic surgeon, no. OK, that's funny, that's funny. But I wait until I find out more about his views then. It's very funny. But his book is not available on Kindle. It's only in text and it's sold out. So we have to go to his his, his Tumblr. We will be getting into a book, but his Tumblr. Just some ideas about what kind of I'm. I'm there. Whoa, there's a pop up. There's a pop, OK, there's a pop up that says the destructive effects of self pity. Self pity is easily the most destructive of the non pharmaceutical narcotics. It is addictive. Like it's the basis of like half of every sitcom episode in the entirety of Everybody Loves Raymond, right? We all know. We all know this, this, this, this process all this time. Yeah. Our plastic surgeon friend is very angry about this. I've written extensively about this modern trend in advertising. So what else can I say? We'll answer this question. What would happen if the same ad aired with the roles reversed? Imagine Campbell looking fit in his sharp military gear, talking about the failings of some inept, dumpy woman guests who'd get left in the garage after that commercial feminist outrage. You'd better believe it. I hate. It's all very funny, this so much already. I'm like, already doing this. Like holding. So position, among other things. Like, yeah, it's kind of a tired trope. You know what else is a tired trope? The male action movie hero who saves the woman in distress who has no agency other than to be a victim. That is still roughly 40% of Hollywood's gross in, right. Like, yeah. And they're why are you writing stories written by men? They're they're these. This, this Tumblr kind of reminds me of, have you ever been on, like, those male inspiration, like, Instagram pages? That it's it's like called like success dot tips, but they're all Joker memes being like, if my wife was dead, I would have health insurance. Like, just truly, that's a direct quote. No, I'm kidding. But like those those success tip, I don't know. There's, I feel like there is a little bit of this mentality that is mutated over the years and now they don't go strictly under misogynist names. Sometimes they're like, we don't want to kill women, we just want success. Yeah, and you're like. Yeah, it's it's the whole. You get the gamut from the men's liberation to the men's rights to the Mig Tao to the doing this. What? I feel like you're trying to hypnotize us. You're like waving your knife back and forth. Waving a knife. It's it's it's my symbol of masculinity, Sophie. Yeah. Yeah. Well, ****. **** that **** and stop it. We're stop it. Are you? That's not. I mean, well, maybe that is Sigma behavior. What is what is Sigma behavior? Besides what would tell you when you're sick? And that one movie where he does nothing but shoot people. I mean, I'm sure he used a knife. At some point he had to have stabbed at least a couple of them. I mean, I don't. I still haven't seen a John Wick. I haven't. And that's my truth. It's not Keanu's best best mom, John Wick. But it's also like it's not really ******** manosphere stuff like one of the like. It's it's bad relationship advice. One of them is not always even all that bad. Like one of the other one of them is are you ignoring your spouse's small Dragons where he talks about like, men not taking the Dragons are like difficulties in your life, and men don't take women's problems seriously. And like, you should take your spouses problem seriously, which is like, not like not bad advice. That's not super toxic. It's framed in a in a dumb way. But it's not like like, yeah, you shouldn't be ****** when somebody else is having a problem. He he also invokes the name of Bill Cosby on the first page. Sure does. He sure does invoke. And does not invoke the fact that Cosby is a serial ******. No, no, no. I mean, not that would not be sick, but behavior to hold other men accountable for their crimes. But I do it. It does kind of look a little like a misogynist leaning. Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, like Super, super binary thinking. Is it kind of along those lines? Yeah. I mean that's that's what it seems like and it's it's pretty boring and honestly. Not all that offensive. Which was why it's not what we're going to read today. Jamie. I have picked. Thankfully, I found another book about Sigma males. I know you were worried there for a second. For just a moment. There you were like, are we not gonna get the hot Sigma action that I crave? Don't worry. Just. I mean, yeah, this Tumblr doesn't want me dead. It just wants me yelled at. Yeah, I need more. Yeah, you need more. You need the Sigma male Codex rules for the Sigma male by Daniel Jones. And? Jimmy, I'm gonna ask you to Google just the words the Sigma male codex so you can get that cover because I need you to see the cover codex. I I wanna be on whatever list that comes up. OK. This Sigma mail code got. Of course it's all caps too. Does Sigma male codex? OK, is this the. Are we talking about, I think there's a wolf, there's there's two, there's two versions. Both are like Twilight set adjacent. They do kind of look like twilight posters. And then two versions there's a sequel. Of course he couldn't. You couldn't. I just opened to the introduction and Jamie, I'm just gonna start reading. OK, good. Yes, yes, yes. If you are reading this, then this. If you are reading this, then it means that you are very intelligent and in search of knowledge. And if you are reading this and you are not in search of knowledge, you will have it by the time you are done. That's one sentence. Congratulations, king. You can read now. Get ready for your life to ******* change so I know what you are saying. And he uses quotations here. Wrong. He has the first quotation mark at the end of saying and then a space with the actual quote that's supposed to be in quotations. No proofreading went into this. And so I know what you were saying. What exactly is a Sigma male? That was what I was saying. That is what you were saying. Well, the Sigma male by definition is a man who does not think or act like everyone else. Where the alpha male always wants to be seen. The Sigma male keeps a low profile as not to draw attention to himself, Also, the Sigma male is the most valued prize. Amongst women because unlike the alpha male, the Sigma male makes no effort to chase women. Rather he catches women with his intellect. One sentence. So are you telling me that the Sigma male is not like the other boys? I'm not like the other wise. I can't write a sentence, but I catch women with my intellect. Women are drawn to me by my inability to use periods or comments or semicolons. It's like the I know chaperons God, I'm just shaking my fist at the sky. No, the next sentence I am a Sigma male and it took me a long time to come to that realization. I knew that an alpha male because I had no desire to chase every woman that I saw. And I knew that I wasn't a beta male because they don't believe that they can get a woman. So I had to fall somewhere in between, which brought me to the concept of the Sigma male. It made perfect sense. I am educated and. Quiet and I am constantly analyzing everything around me. Every dude. I'm champion of the set. That was like, I'm an Ian SJPQR. If nothing else, this should convince you that you can you 2 can get a book published on Amazon. It takes literally nothing. It takes nothing but sheer willpower and word count. I mean, this is just 23 pages, so are you serious? Ohh yeah. The Sigma Male Codex is not a long, not a long book. Let's do this. I'm so excited. It's it's great. It's great. It became very apparent to me that because I was a Sigma male in my tolerance level that my tolerance level for ignorance and foolishness was about as thin as pizza crust. And then one day a light bulb went off in my head. Why not write about my experience as a Sigma? Mail a code if you will, and share it with others who may be Sigma males. And even if they are not, it can still be a useful tool than identifying a Sigma male. Which brings me to the Sigma male Codex. A list of codes and rules that govern the Sigma male from the time he gets. Many times that he goes Sigma mail. Robert? Yeah, yeah. Are you able to do a word search up top to tell you how many times it's in there? It only took a second to to buffer. Yeah, cuz the book's very short 265 matches. Pages, yeah. Ohh I am. I'm very happy to live here anymore. I just picked up Anderson because I needed emotional support. I just went into labor and I'm not even pregnant. Yeah, I think that by the time we're done reading this, I'm gonna give birth during this. This is horrible. I might become a virgin again. I don't know how this book is going to affect me. Spontaneous pregnancies for some real, real virgin lization for others it's it's quite powerful. I'm gonna kegel so hard my whole close. This is so horrifying. He's a cheese. OK, when it's all laid out and done, I think you will find this to be a very interesting read indeed. Never let anyone tell you that the Sigma male is not a high valued prize. Quite the opposite. He is more valuable than a pot of gold. And if this book is his Bible, then the codex shall be his gospel. Wait, what? The book in the codex is the same thing. Wait, OK, terrible writing. Yeah, he's just not a good writer. It's so bad that you can't really comprehend what he's trying to attempt to think. We're gonna have to look through this a bit, and then we're gonna have to pull up that video where it talks about how Keanu Reeves is the Sigma male to. To really get a full understanding of the Sigma. Yeah, I think that that will really put things into sharp focus. Finally. Finally, we'll understand. But first, he's listing the codex numbers, which I don't think this guy knows what a codex is. Is it really like a number? Codex #1, Codex #2, Codex #3, codex #4. Yes Jamie, it's like national treasure. He does not know what a codex is. It's exciting codex #1. The Sigma male means a numbered list when he says code number list list, but each of the numbers is a codex because he doesn't know that a codex is just like another word for book. Basically I think that he has like, I think he should bravely join me in not knowing what a codex is. Loud and proud, the Sigma mail reads. Which means he is obsessed with educating himself and gaining knowledge and wisdom. There's no. At the end of that sentence because he doesn't. This guy doesn't read enough. You know, this man takes pride in his writing, and that is the saddest thing. There's no periods at the end of any of these sentences. What is he? What is it? What is ending it? Nothing. It just stops. And then it's the next codex number. Well, maybe if you're a little more Sigma, you would. Maybe it's like a it's like a whistle only a dog can hear. It's a dog whistle. It's a it's a man. It's a man. A myriad. Only real sigmas can see a period. I'm OK. Anderson's looking at me like it's OK. Mom. Anderson's got some strong Sigma energy right now. I'm OK. It's just it's just a bad book. Oh boy. Now I'm starting to feel bad for this guy. Like a book like this could hurt anyone. Cause Codex #2 is. I don't know that this could. We may have. We may have erred in the wrong direction here. This kid seeming sadder and sadder to me the further we get. Because Kodex #2 is the Sigma male is very quiet. He is always analyzing and overanalyzing everything. I think this is a neurotic young kid. Who? Ran into some weird MRA stuff online and is processing it in a very dumb way. This is so yeah, so because it's like, yeah, there's a lot of quiet kids of every gender. This doesn't justify the codex. Codex #3 is like how he, the Sigma male, deals with women differently from the alpha male because the alpha believes he has to chase every woman. But the Sigma male understands that when you chase someone it implies they are running from you and at the end of the day. The goal is to get the individual to run to you, which is like. On a pathway towards a less toxic kind of thinking. And though it's not there. Yeah, like it this. I like the part where he's not chasing people. Yeah, I I think that should be encouraged. Is not chasing people around, but getting angry at people for not running to you. But I don't know. The Sigma male is the most powerful man in the room because he is the quietest man in the room. No, nobody. When the signals I'm feeling bad for this kid, now we may have to pick a different thing to do. I'm gonna let's roll to the end and see if we can find something out about him. Nope. And I think that the like everything that this keeps emphasizing, like they're quiet and they spend a lot of time alone and they like make things on the Internet and all this stuff like, it's this I I can see who they're marketing to. It's the guy who wrote that Sigma male codex. It's like lonely and kind of confused young men who aren't nearly as toxic as like the kind of guys who are obsessed with being alpha, right. Like they're not gonna they're not gonna take like steroids in order to gain the perfect alpha body and. Fat like or get be like an like the in cell types and obsess over like bone structure uh it's like but they still like it does just seem like a grift directed at yeah shy young men who want to be accepted for who they are. I I think that's exactly what's happening here. Able population would be just grifting from yeah can we all agree to start at 4 minutes now so that we can properly give context? All right, 4 minutes exactly. OK, alright, I'm pressing play. Become a Sigma male. How to become a Sigma male? There is a difference. You're hard to get, hard to get, and being hard to get first is intentional and hard to be frustrating for ladies who find such men attractive. The second is natural. Boy, Alpha male culture ****. But they've gotten a little bit wrapped up in this stuff and it's just like, it's very what I'm curious about is like. I understand the demographic they're catering to, but what do they want you to do? Well, that's very unclear. Change. OK. I was like, what is the plan? Like? I understand. What's the personality clear. But I feel, I feel like I've consumed so much content and yet I don't know what the goal is. After these ads, we're gonna learn what they want us to do. Don't say much, is #1. Easy. You should only speak when you need to speak, which that are awkward little friend's book said the same thing, right? But it's just like, OK, you're describing continuing to be shy. Like, yeah is the I think this is people. This is young men who have gotten drawn into aspects of the of the manosphere, but also whenever they meet like pickup artist types or like uh, men's rights activist types, they find them infuriating and because they're terrible, like if people who are. Who are have enough on the ball to recognize how horrible the manosphere is, but also don't have enough on the ball to not have gotten sucked in a little bit. But, and this is there's enough to gamify all of their social interactions. We a rebel, like. It's just so generic it's fascinating. It's really. I'm really I'm kind of confused as to like. Let me I think the way I can explain it is like the manosphere is an ocean and it's like an ocean of **** but it's an ocean. And this is the Sigma male subculture that seems to be in the process of developing. It's like a tide pool of **** right? It's near the ocean. Yeah I I I'm I'm interested in this because you like it has all of the toxic elements that like early **** does. But it doesn't quite seem focused on something, you know? Stay on this algorithm path. Yeah, I think that's. I don't know. I hope it's not like this. This seems like a different kind of grifter than the traditional. A pickup artist or the the manosphere grip there's almost more self help. I I wanna read the mindful way of studios description of their affirmations. Are you with Sigma male?
